AN EXPLANATION
'Negresco' is homage to the golden age of the Niçoise Mediterranean tourit scene of
the20's and 30's. An era made legendary by the great and good of Europe who flocked to St Tropez, Monte Carlo, Cannes and Nice,
to top up tans (in-between fighting world wars).
'Negresco is a tribute to Henri Negresco, founder of Nice's legendary Negresco hotel - The ' Grande Dame' of Nice, whom has played host to Hemingway, Coco Chanel, and many a dictator and star of the mid-20th century A-list circuit.
Famous for its eclectic styling, timless chic, and effortlessly camp glamour, the 'Negresco' hotel is a marriage of all that is good and grate about the Italianate, yet truly French gem that is the city of Nice.
A city that also eternally plays tribute to its English guests from the Jazz age, by dubbing its main street the 'Promenade des Anglais'. The 'Negresco' Hotel's notorious oak paneled bar remains a very French tribute to English colonial styling.
Our 'Negreco' isn't a hotel, and doesn't have the beaches or blazing sun of the Cote D'Azur. It dose hope, however, to bring a humble piece of somthing very special to a very different setting. A bit of glitz and ritz, Italian wines. All cocooned within a comforting, yet endearingly unhinged environment. The best bad dream you'll ever have |
